The 'World's Toughest Inflatable Boat Challenge' starts every year on 28 December at Plettenberg Bay, South Africa. It is a fast-paced, action-packed water sports event with over 60 inflatable boats battling it out on the waves. This most prestigious – in the world – 5 day race will visit beaches along the coast between Nature's Valley and Strand where the race will finish on 1 January.
The first stage is a distance of 189 km from Plettenberg Bay to Mosselbay (Beach Swartvlei, Wilderness, Glentana, Great Brak River, Little Brak River)
The second stage is 86km from Mosselbay to Stillbaai, (Beach stops at Vleesbaai and Gourits River Mouth)
3rd stage is 161km from Stillbay to Struisbaai, (Beach stops at Witsand and Arniston)
4thStage is 135km from Struisbaai to Hermanus, Beach stops at Die Damme, Pearly Beach,Uilkransmond) A night race is held from Gansbaai to Hermanus and Stage 5 is 131km from Hermanus to Strand. (Beach stops at Onrus,Kleinmond and Pringle Bay)
