The Bredasdorp AACL promotes animal welfare through education and rendering animal welfare assistance through various programs. Complaints received from the public are investigated and in cases of blatant cruelty and neglect, perpetrators are prosecuted in terms of the Animals Protection Act no 71 of 1962.
Basic health care assistance is rendered through dipping and de-worming programs, as well as attending to emergency situations where animals are injured or have become diseased.
Teaching responsible pet ownership through our sterilisation program. The Adopt-A-Spay program was recently established to aid members of the local communities who can not afford to sterilise their pets. Thus preventing unwanted births and the ensuing cruelty and neglect.
